Most Confusing Gamers Terms for Ordinary People

  • February 1, 2021

Most Confusing Gamers Terms for Ordinary People. Regardless of the gaming variety of favorite genres and franchises, there are so many new words, phrases or abbreviations that have emerged to accommodate the communication needs of gamers as a whole.

A variety of new terms have appeared that may seem foreign, but have been able to achieve their main function for gaming needs. Gamers construct a lot of the term “cool” which is certain, it will feel so absurd and strange to the ears of the layman or non-gamer. Something that even has the potential to have a much different meaning from what these gamers are trying to convey, especially when it accidentally slides out in everyday conversations.

So, of all the gaming terms that are scattered about, which ones are potentially the most confusing for ordinary people or non-gamers? Here is the list.

Grinding

It’s not an easy matter to explain what Grinding is to ordinary people, or even gamers who don’t really like RPG as a genre. Why? Because there are so many indicators and factors involved in it. Grinding itself is an action for gamers not to continue the story or the main quest, and to be more involved in insignificant side action with one goal – strengthening the character, especially in terms of status and level. Explaining a concept like this to ordinary people means that you have to explain the importance of levels, skills, jobs, and the main motives that define RPG as a genre. If the target audience had more than an hour to hear the lecture and your RPG-hunting spirit, Grinding probably wouldn’t sound like such a confusing concept.

Party

“Uh … you know what, gamers like to have fun”
“Why is that?”
“Yeah, they like parties anyway ..”

Believe it or not, a series of sentences like the one above can happen if you don’t explain completely what the “Party” concept looks like in your gaming activities. Don’t blame the layman if they end up thinking that you are organizing or engaging in a hedonistic act with loud music, neat clothes, smells of perfume and cigarettes, and the wobble that keeps blowing through the morning. Or you get involved in balloon action, singing, and obscure humor with your friends. “Party” is a word that is very ambiguous in the brains of non-gamers if it slides without explanation. In fact, what you mean is just playing together with in-game friends in a group, going on an adventure together.

Best Games of 2020?

Best Remake, RPG; and Best Game of the year 2020 is  THE Final Fantasy VII
Square Enix and the fans who grew up with the series seem to understand one thing – that the ambition for an action remake of Final Fantasy VII is an almost impossible task. That regardless of the variety of modernization efforts they might want to encourage, it is impossible that this series will be able to attract veteran gamers and newcomers at the same time.

But the result? It’s an achievement! This action remake manages to present all the things that made the original Final Fantasy VII series so loved, loyal but still goes through the modernization process that it should be – such as character design and gameplay, for example, while injecting some new things that enrich the experience that was not in the original series. The charm of the remake of Final Fantasy VII grows beyond visualization. (Best Game of the year 2020)

New Star Wars Game

New Star Wars Game

  • January 28, 2021

New Star Wars Game. The exclusive partnership between EA and Star Wars is not exactly smooth. Starting in 2013 yesterday and enough saying to last for at least 10 years, many Star Wars games are better know for their controversy than the quality they carry, especially when we talk about the two Battlefront series.

EA is slowly but surely starting to clean up, especially with the release of games like Jedi: Fallen Order and the touted Star Wars Squadrons. But who would have thought that Disney’s commitment to further exploring this franchise through the birth of the Lucasfilm Games branding a few days ago turned out to have consequences that we had never predicted before. That’s right, Star Wars is no longer an EA exclusive.

This surprising fact was opened after Ubisoft and dev. The Division – Massive Entertainment suddenly announced a collaboration with Lucasfilm Games to formulate a new open-world Star Wars game. The game, which is still anonymous, will be headed by The Division 2 brain – Julian Gerighty and will be built using the Snowdrop Engine.

Guillemot ensures that the story will still be counted by canon with the ambition to create a Star Wars game like never before.

Sean Shopaw – Disney’s Senior VP of Global Games and Interactive Experiences made a few comments regarding EA. He said that EA had become and will remain a super important and strategic partner for Disney. But now, they feel the moment is right to give “space” to others.

It is not clear when this game will show its shape to the surface. Ubisoft itself began to open job vacancies with a focus on working on and completing this Star Wars game. How about you? Do you see this as good news?

The Star Wars Game Now Stands Under the Flag of Lucasfilm Games

It is not easy to understand the workings of a giant company whose reach has entered the global market. There are so many subsidiaries that handle a wide range of different products, sometimes moving independently, which are also followed by different branding and marketing styles.

(Please Read Other Article about Best Wild West Game for PC and Console – Part 2)

This is what is likely to happen with games based on the Star Wars universe in the future. Disney will now return the name LucasFilm Games to represent these products.

Together with an official logo, Disney decided to pitch a new brand that would include all future Star Wars universe-based games. These games now stand under the LucasFilm Game “universe”, whose logo will now appear in front of every Star Wars game in the future.

There is no difference in content and the development process; considering that Disney will continue to collaborate with various developers for these Star Wars games. What’s different is the existence of a new social media account in the name of; Lucasfilm Games which will share information about these games directly with fans. (New Star Wars Game)

The Wild West

Best Wild West Game for PC and Console – Part 2

  • January 27, 2021

Part 2 – In the 17th to 20th centuries, the United States became silent witness of the expansion of territories and conflicts between Indian tribes and the expansion of residential areas in the “Manifest Destiny” program. This period is known as the “American Frontier” or “Wild / Old West” which also forms the identity of the United States to this day.

The Wild West period is divided into two parts:

1607–1912: territorial expansion
1850–1924: Wild West myths

The second half covering the whole Wild West myth usually takes place in the western part of the United States. In the world of entertainment, this period is often the setting for cowboy conflicts in films, literary works, to video games.

No less interesting than the time settings in other games, here are the 5 best games set in the Wild West to play on PC and consoles according to the Metacritic site.

Disclaimer: Some of the games displayed here contain elements of blood, violence, adult scenes, and vulgar words. Player discretion is strongly recommended and minors are not expected to play.

1. Call Of Juarez: Bound in Blood

Not “Call of Duty”, “Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood” was developed with Chrome Engine 4 by Techland in 2009 and distributed by Ubisoft for PS3, XBOX 360, and PC. Like Red Dead Redemption 2, this FPS game is the second installment in Call of Juarez, as well as a prequel to the first Call of Juarez (2006).

Taking 20 years before Call of Juarez, Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood focuses on the Ray and Thomas McCall brothers who become fugitives after deserting towards the end of the US Civil War in 1864. The McCall brothers then travel to find civilization’s “Gold Juarez” Aztec.

Like Dead Eye in Red Dead, Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood also has a slow attack mode, namely “Concentration Mode”. Cowboy-style shooting duels are also frequent, and you have to keep your hands close to the gun so you can shoot first! Unfortunately, this game was not able to score sales of touching 1 million copies.

2. Desperados: Wanted Dead or Alive

Released for Windows-based PCs in 2001, “Desperados: Wanted Dead or Alive” is a real time tactics game by Spellbound Entertainment and distributed by Infogrames. In 2019, this game will also be available for macOS, and Linux.

Desperados: Wanted Dead or Alive is set in 1881. You play as a sniper cowboy, John Cooper. Cooperating with five of his colleagues, Cooper wants to catch a train robber named “El Diablo”. So, in this game you can control 6 characters.

In this game, you can also run the spyglass feature, which is peeking through the eyes of the NPCs. In addition, you can also activate Quick Actions, which is the ability to compose attacks so they can be executed later.

3. Call Of Juarez: Gunslinger

The fourth series of Call of Juarez, “Call of Juarez: Gunslinger” was also developed by Techland with Chrome Engine 5 and distributed for PS3 (via PSN), XBOX 360 (via XBOX Live) and PC (via Steam). In 2019, this FPS game is here for the Nintendo Switch.

Call of Juarez: Gunslinger tells the story of revenge in 1910 about a hit man named Silas Greaves. Believe it or not believe it, here, you will meet a young boy who turns out to be the 34th President of the US, Dwight D. Eisenhower. The ending in this game can be different depending on your decision.

Just like other Call of Juarez, Call of Juarez: Gunslinger also features duel between cowboys and a concentration mode for more effective aiming. To find out the truth about Silas’ past, you also have to collect the “Nugget of Truth”. Apart from Story mode, you can also play two other modes:

Arcade: You fight multiple enemies at once.
Duel: You are a one-on-one gun duel with many opponents.
In 2018, this game was temporarily withdrawn from the market due to a dispute with Ubisoft. Finally, Techland became the official publisher for this game.

4. Gun

Developed by Neversoft, Beenox (PC), and Rebellion Developments (PSP), “Gun” is an RPG game that has an open world environment. Distributed by Activision, Gun was released in 2005 on PC, PS2, XBOX, GameCube, and XBOX 360. In 2006, Gun was released for the PlayStation Portable (PSP) under the title “Gun: Showdown”.

Red Dead Revolver is set in the 1880s. Here, you will play as a cold-blooded paid cowboy named Red Harlow who wants to take revenge for the death of his parents at the hands of cowboys.

Making its debut in the game, the mechanism remained until Red Dead Redemption 2. Released for the PS2 and XBOX in 2004; Red Dead Revolver scored sales of up to 920,000 copies as of 2010.

Review Sony Playstation 5

Playstation 5 Preview: A New Generation Arrives!

  • January 26, 2021

Playstation 5 Preview: A New Generation Arrives – Having to wait for at least three months before being able to officially enjoy Sony’s newest Playstation 5, which Playstation gamers in Indonesia have to feel is no longer bearable. Coupled with the problem of limitations that also occur in almost all parts of the world; some gamers even have to endure this thirst even further.

Fortunately, we are one of the gamers who are lucky enough to own a console with this super high sensation on the first day of release for the Indonesian market. So, what is it really offering? How was the first impression he manage to make on our experience?

Every time a new console comes to the market, of course there are many interesting things to discuss, from the technology supported by the manufacturer, both from the performance side to the various additional features that they believe will define the “future” of gaming itself. Likewise with the Playstation 5.

First Impression on the Playstation 5

From the hardware side, we were quite surprised by the size and weight of this one console. Pairing it next to the 55 “TV is as if the fact is that the Playstation 5 does need extra planning if your gaming space is limited at home.

The rest? This size is compensated for through performance and several significant improvements from the previous series, including fan problems that were so obvious on the Playstation 4; The wide white chips available on two sides do dominate the visuals, making us can’t wait to see what the extra pieces look like. which Sony will offer in special packages in the future.

But you have to, the “star” of the Playstation 5 is actually the controller – DualSense. Since its introduction to the public, Sony has continued to sell two words of jargon – haptic feedback and adaptive trigger, which sound like a gimmick.

When we now hold the controller that feels heavier in our hands, with Astrobot walking on the screen, all doubts immediately disappear. That the two features mentioned actually work as claimed and are able to offer a gaming experience that is on the “shakes” only.

There is something special when you have to exert yourself to press this trigger button to access certain functions. In NBA 2K21? This trigger will be even more difficult and shows the weary age of the player using it. Crazy.

Apart from changes in performance on the gaming side, from updates to several games such as Ghost of Tsushima which can now be played at a 60fps framerate or how NVME SSD-based loading speeds allow you to start Spider-Man: Miles Morales from the main menu to in-game in just 20 seconds.

Other Rich Features on Playstation 5

Playstation 5 also carries a different user-interface. It took time to relearn what he could do, but he was still intuitive. There is a Card per game system where you can enter certain parts of the game directly; the option to prove adaptive triggers, and now the opportunity to see the total time you spent in each game.

The rest is enjoying the release of the Playstation; which fortunately has been accompanied by several exclusive titles that deserve a glance; Apart from the fantastic Demon’s Souls Remake from Bluepoint Games; you are also treat to Spider-Man Remaster which turns out to be quite a significant improvement in the 4K Native ray-tracing mode which you will easily recognize.

Of course, there are a few third-party games that take advantage of this extra performance right away to make a difference from past generations; from Watch Dogs: Legion, NBA 2K21, to Devil May Cry 5: Special Edition. Those of you who like to share image or video content via social media will also do it faster; from capturing screenshots to cutting videos.

However, the social media images you can share directly are currently limited compared to past Sony’s Playstation 4 releases. (Playstation 5 Preview: A New Generation Arrives)

It is still too early to write a complete review of our version of the Playstation 5; considering there is so much testing to do and so many questions that invite curiosity and ‘the need to seek answers while working on everything;  let us share some of the images we captured during the process of writing this preview article.

Of course, this also means we will start reviewing Playstation 5 games from this point on. Welcome to the new generation!

The Wild West

Best Wild West Game for PC and Console – Part 1

  • January 25, 2021

Part 1 – In the 17th to 20th centuries, the United States became silent witness of the expansion of territories and conflicts between Indian tribes and the expansion of residential areas in the “Manifest Destiny” program.

1. Red Dead Redemption 2

In first place, “Red Dead Redemption” is a game made by Rockstar Games which was released in 2018-2019 for the PlayStation 4 (PS4) XBOX One, PC, and Google Stadia. The third series of Red Dead, Red Dead Redemption 2 is a prequel to Red Dead Redemption (2010).

Set 12 years before the first Red Dead Redemption, Red Dead Redemption 2 tells the story of Arthur Morgan, a member of the Van der Linde gang, set in West, Central West, and South America. Arthur’s story has two different endings, depending on how you run the character during the game. Want to be good or bad?

Having an open world environment based on the Rockstar Advanced Game Engine (RAGE) engine, you can carry out missions, hunt, or interact with in-game characters. Of course, for a more effective firefight, you can activate the Dead Eye mechanism, just tell who the target is, and Arthur will immediately shoot automatically.

Supporting online gaming features, Rockstar also released Red Dead Online in 2019. Despite not winning the Game of the Year award in the year; Red Dead Redemption 2 remains one of the most hype launches and is one of the bestsellers with 34 million copies!

2. Red Dead Redemption

After Red Dead Redemption 2, then “Red Dead Redemption”, the Rockstar game produced in 2010, took place. With the RAGE engine, Red Dead Redemption can indirectly be considered a “sequel” to “Red Dead Revolver”, the game produced by Rockstar in 2004.

Completed from Red Dead Redemption 2, this game is set in 1911 in the Western United States and Mexico. We play the character John Marston, a cowboy who is forced to undergo a murder mission for trying to free his family who is being held captive.

You are free to explore the open world environment in Red Dead Redemption while carrying out missions and behaving good or evil. Just like other Red Dead games, Red Dead Redemption also adopts the Dead Eye mechanism; so you can aim and shoot at your opponent more effectively.

Can be played multiplayer online, you can play Red Dead Redemption with 15 of your friends, either cooperating or competitive. Considered one of the best games in terms of plot, gameplay, and music ever made, Red Dead Redemption arrived on PS3 and XBOX 360, and sold 15 million copies as of 2017!

3. Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath

Developed by Oddworld Inhabitants and distributed by Electronic Arts (EA), “Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath” was first released in 2005 for XBOX. Then, the game will be remastered to PC (via Steam), PS3, and Nintendo Switch in 2020.

Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath tells the adventure of a hitman named Stranger. The unique feature of this game is “live ammunition”. As the name implies, this feature means Stranger loads his weapons with living things with different functions and effects!

Unfortunately, having a unique gameplay and a good story is not enough to save this game. Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath was only able to print 600,000 sales copies as of 2014.

4. Red Steel 2

“Red Steel 2” is a hack-and-slash FPS game developed by Ubisoft, and released exclusively for the Nintendo Wii in 2010. Unfortunately, just like the Wii that was considered a failure; Red Steel 2 was also only able to make 270,000 copies globally. However, that doesn’t mean this game is failing too, you know!

Not completely adapting to the Wild West, the story of Red Steel 2 revolves around an anonymous character who is the last samurai of the Kusagari clan. In accordance with the characteristics of the platform; Red Steel 2 really makes use of the Wii Motion Plus controller as the main character’s sword and gun control.

5. Wild Arms 3

Developed by Media Vision and distributed by Sony Computer Entertainment and Ubisoft; “Wild Arms 3” is a turn-based Japanese RPG (JRPG) game, the 3rd series from Wild Arms that has been running since 1996. Coming to PS2 on 2003, Wild Arms 3 was also available for PS4 via the PlayStation Network (PSN).

Just like Red Steel 2, Wild Arms 3 doesn’t really take place during the Wild West. The story of Wild Arms 3 revolves around an adventurer named Virginia Maxwell, who travels to Filgaia; a desert planet similar to the days of the Wild West. Together with three other adventurers, Virginia must stop the destruction of the planet.

Barats, Most Dissapointed Game

Most Dissapointed Game this year (part1)

  • January 22, 2021

Most Dissapointed Game this year – 2020 is a year that is quite indulgent and unique for gamers, especially with the giant franchise that has finally spawned their latest series. Developers are starting to make optimal use of the latest generation consoles, and indie developers have consistently explored relatively refreshing gameplay concepts. Even so, not a few who were present brought more disappointment than satisfaction. The games that ended were unable to fulfill what they promised from the start.

The greater the expectation, the bigger the disappointment that can arise, this concept is perhaps the most appropriate to explain one of the words that are being used more and more frequently in the game industry today, Over-Hype. With trailers and screenshots packaged in such a way, let alone the claims and promises of the developers that continue to reverberate over the months before its release, it’s no surprise that gamers are starting to build certain expectations for the games they are after.

But unfortunately, we often forget that the gaming industry is still a business. The hype that has been awakened is sweet, culminating in a sweet pre-order number. But unfortunately, unlike fairy tales with beautiful ending, gamers actually get something that is the opposite of what they expected. Disappointment is the right response.

(dont forget to read our other articles Games that exceeded expectations in 2020)

Most Dissapointed Game indeed. But remember, DISAPPOINTING DOESN’T MEAN BAD

Most of the games included in this list are games that can still be enjoyed, even offering visual strength, gameplay, and sometimes – a solid story. Disappointing here only stems from the inability of these games to come up with a quality commensurate with the hype that has been building so far. Games that have made many gamers hope and dream, but end up throwing all the positive energy onto the ground and trampling on it mercilessly. (Most Dissapointed Game)

Warcraft III Reforged
The standard of remastering in the game industry today is very different from the previous years. With the actions of several developers who have succeeded in making such significant changes to the original content that was used as the basis, both from the visual side to the features, there is a new standard that is interesting to pursue and exceed. This is what Blizzard failed to do with one of its super popular strategy games – Warcraft III. Even though the visuals are improving, there are a number of Blizzard’s promises that are not fulfilled here, especially through the cinematic camera approach when the cut-scenes that were exhibited are not available in the final version. Several features in the original series that are not available also add to the disappointment.

Crubicle
Crucible? Crucible? What are Crucibles? Exactly. Just hearing the name alone, most of you seem to immediately understand why this one game immediately entered the toplist list of the most disappointing games in 2020. We are talking about a game that was released in May 2020, received a bad response, was pulled back to the closed beta period in June 2020, and then ended up being canceled and shut down forever in October 2020. No need to taste the third person shooter game that is called super. This boring, despite the fantastic character design, to understand why this game deserves to be included in this article.

Most Dissapointed Game this year (part1) will continue in part two.

These games is the most exceeded expectations in 2020

Games that exceeded expectations in 2020 – Gamers who have eaten the salt acid of the gaming industry, especially when it is handled as a business whose main target is always to collect the largest possible profit, seems to have understood that the high hype is not always directly proportional to the quality of the final version of the video game that is finally distributed to the market. Not least because of a situation like this, gamers have to meet with great disappointment because the final quality is not in accordance with expectations that have been built so far. But interestingly, there are also many cases where the opposite happens – where unexpected games suddenly emerge with fantastic quality. An event which, of course, deserves a special appreciation.

So, of all the games released in 2020 yesterday, what games do we think managed to exceed expectations?

Genshin Impact
What do you think of when you hear a free to play game made by a Chinese developer? A game that at the beginning of its existence was accused of being a “Breath of the Wild clone”? So like most of you, we are also among the gamers who are quite skeptical about Genshin Impact itself. But giving him a chance was one of the best decisions we made in 2020 yesterday. It is clear that the developer – miHoYo is serious about building an action RPG game that is not only tempting because of the character design, but also wraps it up with a story and a solid gameplay mechanic. Despite the fact that the economy is gacha-based, gamers who don’t want to spend any money can still enjoy it without any problems. With all these combinations, including in terms of presentation, Genshin Impact is not even difficult to beat the paid open-world action RPG games that are available on the market.

Fall Guys: The Ultimate Knockout
When it was first introduced as one of the “free” Playstation Plus games to accompany its release day, not many people paid attention to the game that was born under the Devolver Digital banner. But for those who gave him the opportunity, games with super cute characters turned out to be easy to trigger addiction. The gameplay concept in the style of Takeshi Fortress, the concept of “battle-royale” with minimal violence, and a stage design that does not always depend on the problem of luck gave birth to a new wave of phenomena. Fall Guys was suddenly busy talking about with many giant brands trying to keep up with their popularity. Who would have thought that a game with a concept like this could end up being a product that is needed and enjoyed by many gamers in 2020 which are, in fact, not exactly friendly.

Among Us
There is no more precise reaction to explain the whole phenomenon involving the name Among Us in 2020 than the word “shocking”. That a game that almost died because of a dwindling community and never gained popularity could suddenly end up exploding. When we talk about “exploding”, we are talking on the scale of a blazing nuclear bomb. Among Us, which is available for PC and mobile, ended up being one of the most downloaded games in 2020, with a popularity that has even penetrated into the realm of ordinary people. In the world of Youtubers and Streamers, he also gave birth to so many collaborations that were never predicted before. The most fantastic part? The developer did not then struggle desperately to take advantage of this situation in the name of money and ended up creating a monetization strategy that seemed greedy. Among Us remains the same, both before and after he became popular.
